HF 2195 – Terms for Transportation Commission members;
HF 2256 – Structurally deficient bridges, alternative-powered vehicles and road funding;

FLOOR ACTION:

HF 2195 changes the terms of the members of the state Transportation Commission from May 1 to July 1 in the year they are appointed.

HF 2256 strikes the 2019 repeal of reports on how counties use Road Use Tax Fund money for structurally deficient bridges. The legislation also requires the Department of Transportation to estimate the impact of alternative-powered vehicles and evaluate how to replace lost gas tax revenue.

HF 2304 adds stationary construction vehicles to the list of vehicles displaying flashing lights for which motorists must approach with due caution and make a lane change if possible. If a lane change is not possible, the motorist must reduce speed to what is reasonable for road conditions and be prepared to stop.
