Funding available for water quality and flood prevention projects

Through October 1, Iowa’s Watershed Improvement Review Board is accepting applications for grants to improve water quality or help prevent flooding.

Grant funds are available to local watershed improvement committees, soil and water conservation districts, public water supply utilities, county conservation boards, cities and counties. Eligible projects include those addressing agricultural runoff and drainage, flood prevention, stream bank erosion, municipal discharge, storm water runoff, unsewered communities, industrial discharge and livestock runoff.

For complete details, applications and to ensure that your project qualifies, go to http://www.iowaagriculture.gov/IWIRB.asp or call Jerry Neppel at 515-281-3599.
