Kibbie honored with education award created in his name
Senate President Jack Kibbie of Emmetsburg was recently presented with the first annual John P. (Jack) Kibbie Champion of Community College Award. The award was created in Senator Kibbie’s name by the Iowa State Education Association Higher Education Committee. Senator Kibbie has been a strong advocate for community colleges since he helped create Iowa’s community college system in the 1960s. On hand for the award ceremony were, from left, Kori Huberty, Luann Kustra, Kay Kibbie, Pat Williams, Jackie Kibbie Williams, Senator Kibbie and Pat Kibbie.
