New Iowa attraction to boost job creation, economic opportunity
As Iowa rebounds from the national recession, there are exciting and creative economic growth opportunities happening all over the state.
On January 28, representatives of a proposed $38 million ballpark in Dyersville visited the Statehouse to talk about their efforts to create jobs and
boost the local economy.
Supporters say that All-Star Ballpark Heaven will be a premier tournament facility for youth baseball and softball teams, as well as a local attraction for the “Field of Dreams” movie site. The ballpark will include 24 baseball diamonds, host weekend and week-long baseball and softball tournaments, and provide a year-round, indoor training center for young athletes.
The project will create 506 jobs through construction and employment at the park, supporters say. Depending on private, local and state investment, the ballpark is scheduled to open in April 2014. Learn more at www.allstarballparkheaven.com.
