SSB 3010 – IDVA, Commission duties

COMMITTEE ACTION:

SSB 3010 is a recommendation by the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) and the Iowa Commission of Veterans Affairs to make Iowa Code Chapters 35 and 35A (IVC) more reader-friendly and to strike obsolete references and programs that have sunsetted. The proposal also clarifies training and service school provisions for county commissioners, and for county executive directors and administrator, and allows funds remaining in a county commission training program account at the end of a fiscal year to be used to train IDVA personnel as well as county veterans affairs staff.
