(VIDEO) Senate takes action against sexually violent predators

Today the Senate approved Senate Amendment 5219 to House File 2422 in order to prevent sexually violent predators from being discharged from state control to a nursing home or assisted living facility.  As passed by the House, the legislation would have only required facility operators to notify residents if a sex offender was accepted to their facility.  After every Republican in the chamber voted against the amendment, every member of the Senate voted for the legislation as amended.
