About Senator Kibbie
Jack Kibbie was elected in 2008 to his seventh term in
the Iowa Senate. He represents Senate
District 4, which includes Emmet, Kossuth, Palo Alto,
Pocahontas and Humboldt counties, as well as the townships of Jackson, Deer Creek and Johnson
in Webster County.
Senator Kibbie is President of the Senate, co-chair of the Ethics Committee,
vice-chair of the Rules & Administration Committee and vice-chair of the
State Government Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture and Veterans
Affairs committees, as well as the Government Oversight Committee.
Jack served in Korea as a tank commander during Korean War and was awarded
the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Iowa House from 1961-1964 and the
Iowa Senate from 1964-1968. He was re-elected to the Senate in 1988.
Jack served on the Iowa Lakes
Community College Board for 17 years and was president for 10 of those
years. He and his wife, Kay, operate a family livestock and grain farm with his two
sons. |
