Tom Rielly was elected in 2008 to his second term in the Iowa Senate. He represents Senate District 38, which includes Iowa, Poweshiek and Keokuk counties, as well as the eastern half of Mahaska County and a southern portion of Tama County.

Senator Rielly is chair of the Transportation Committee and vice-chair of the Commerce Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture, Economic Growth, and Local Government committees.

Tom is a former mayor of Oskaloosa and is active in the community. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks and Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as president of the Jaycees and as a YMCA board member.

Tom was born and raised in Oskaloosa and chose to return there after graduating from Loras College in Dubuque. He owns and operates Rielly Insurance, where he works as a financial advisor and insurance agent.

Tom and his wife, Mary, have two daughters, Katie and Shawn.
