SF 165 — Iowa Prison Industries and private business bidding
COMMITTEE ACTION
SF 165 requires the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) to adopt administrative rules that would in effect reverse state law concerning when state government agencies must purchase goods from Iowa Prison Industries. A committee amendment was approved to allow Iowa Prison Industries to bid on all projects unless excluded by current code. With this amendment, the legislation basically reflects current procedure.
