SF 295 – Disaster Recovery Housing Assistance Program
SF 295 is the Governor’s proposal to improve affordable housing administered by Iowa Finance Authority. The bill creates a Disaster Recovery Housing Assistance Program, increases housing tax credits from the current $30 million to $50 million for three years, doubles the workforce housing tax credit to $15 million to develop 3,750 new rental homes for low-income families by 2030, establishes loan guarantees for downtown revitalization projects, and provides eviction prevention assistance for renters. In addition, Brownfield and Grayfield development moneys are doubled to $20 million a year.
